I read that some womens were allowed to get into wehrmacht.
They were less than 20 and had fought in front east next to the men. The army allowed the ingression of them if they did not have privileges for being women as much that the basic rule age to seem a common male soldier when dressed. Hitler was very irritated when it knew that some women were in the rows of wehrmacht in the heat of battle.
Is this true?

In Mark Bando's book "Breakout At Normandy, The 2nd Armored Division in the Land of the Dead", on page 136 he describes G.I.s finding the remains of a female in a Hummel near Saint Denis. She was wearing a German uniform. On the same page it tells of a number of German army females being killed or captured in the breakthrough (mainly nachrichten helferinnen) and members of the 2/41st said they could hear female voices screaming during the fight in which German columns were being blown apart. However, no photos are offered in the book to prove this.

I have seen pictures of dead german woman in german uniforms. They were taken by a US military photographer near the end of the war. I do not remember the name of the book, but if anyone is interested, I will go back to the library and find the title.
