Female Auxiliary Photographs

Post by aussie jason » 11 Dec 2004 18:33

Hello all.
Unfortunately i know nothing at all about this field of photo collecting so i need a litle help  .

I was wondering whether these photos are common or scarce and what the going price for these are. What would be the estimated value of my example here? It is dated February 1942.

Thanks for any help provided :)

Kindest Regards
Jason

Hi Jason,

Photos of female Auxiliaries are fairly scare compared to pictures of Soldaten. In fact, female items in general are probably rarer than even SS ones---but a lot less desireable to most people, too.

On value, I can't perhaps be a lot of help on a single picture, since I tend to buy them in sets. Value tends to vary based on the branch of service, details of the uniform that are visible, the background shown in the photo, any information on the back, etc. For one like this I'd say USD10-20?

Personally, though, I love the photo! It has two of my favorite subjects together: a Helferin and a Schäferhund!

Thank you Fraulein Valkyrie!!!
Thanks so much for your help, it seems not many know too much about this field of photo collecting, it is a shame that they are scarce as the are a great piece of history, unfortunately this is the only photo of this subject i own and it cost me the grand total of 2 Australian dollars (approx $1.51USD) as this pic is of a non military subject!!! :D Unfortunately i still havnt mastered reading the wording on the back so i dont realy know what it says so here it is.

Thanks again for all your help
Kindest Regards
Jason

The first word "Urlaub" means Holiday. The third word is the location but I do not recognize the word...

Hello everybody,

I assume I'm correct here to drop the following photos. They show Waldtraud Grüter, a Marinehelferin. She survived the sinking of the 'Wilhelm Gustloff' in 1945.
The first picture shows her in the town of Memel in 1941.
Source: http://wilhelmgustloff.de/pages/waltrautg.html
The secondpicture was taken on Dec. 5th, 1944.

Torsten
