Female Auxiliary Photographs

A nice shot I picked up in a US album. It was the only German photo in the whole album! Dated 44 on the reverse. What type of dress is this? I liked the shoes too!

They're wearing the summer work smock for Heer Nachrichtenhelferinnen (Female Army Signals Auxiliaries). And you're right, it is a great shot of the shoes--they're wearing civilian shoes.

Odd that it was in an American album, though. Was there any comment on it in the album?

I had thought the same thing, Torsten. It's an especially nice view of the placement of the Police patch and the (I believe?) signals blitz on the lower sleeve.

yes postal worker but the copy is mirrored. The sleeve patch should actually be on her left arm and the jacket depicted is closing the male way.

Thanks! I had an inkling that the photo was reversed. I think this was common with the "photobooth" photos.

Here is a picture of my mother with her "Mädels" (auxiliary force) I don't know where it was taken. I just know she was stationed in Minsk until 13 April 1944.
