Re: Female Auxiliary Photographs
Can somebody tell to what branch of service these ladies belong? The lady at right is wearing a peaked cap and somekind of stick, that is weird? Dressing like man´s uniform.
Thanks

Hello Arto,
They are Reichsbahn. Take a look at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... n&start=15 and especially the photos at http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1564290

And at left,is possibly a man of the "Zugwachabteilung" (Trains Guards). They are Reichsbahn
With a "Ringkragen" very similar to the "Feldgendarmerie" model.

Thanks Vikki and von thoma,
Now also seeing a better photo, I do understand the meaning of the "stick". I wonder if this was the only case were women used a peaked cap?
With best regards
Arto

Re: Female Auxiliary Photographs
Did the women tram drivers also wear a peaked cap, I seem to recall maybe seeing one in photos. Possibly as Arto says, odd use of a peaked cap for women! Did women bus drivers maybe wear them, or some postal officials?
Re: Female Auxiliary Photographs
Women in the Reichspost did wear a peaked cap (the alternate style seems to have been the beret-style cap). For photos see http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 7&t=116346.
For photos of tram Schaffnerinnen see http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 03#p470303. The women's caps in these photos appear to be either the "Overseas" or "Schiffchen" style, or beret-style ones. But there must have been a large number of tram systems, and my understanding is that some of the tram systems were operated by private companies as well. So there may well have been visor caps worn by tram conductresses.
