Great Phil, very many thanks for the additional names. Out of interest was Frau Terboven possibly the wife of the later Reichskommisar Terboven..? - amazing, by reading the notes properly :D I realise the answer to my question, anyone got a photo!

Hi,

the first name of Frau Terboven from Gau Ost-Hannover should be "Ilse" because Josef Terboven married Ilse Stahl, a secretary of Goebbels, on June 29th, 1934.

Does anyone have pictures of Terboven's wedding so we can get a glimpse of this Gaufrauenschaftsführerin?
It was a big affair with Hitler and Göring attending.

Best regards
Torsten

IF anyone has got a copy of Norman Rich's Hitlers War Aims vol 2 from 1974 I am advised there is a photo of the Terboven wedding in the photo section around page 186. I wonder if this pictures the whole wedding group?

Hi!

I'm new here, but im reading this forum since some months. Very interesting. I'd like to participate, to add some information and to correct (if it's allowed) some others as well.

I saw that you interested a lot about the Gaufrauenschaftsleiterin Terboven.

Well her name ist Wilhelmine Terboven, she was born 13.12.1890 and she was the sister of the Gauleiter Terboven.

Wilhelmine was active in Essen, by her brother and went to Lüneburg (Gau Osthannover) in november 1936. Since then she was applied GFL in Kòln.

Hello HistoriaMagistra,

this version of the Terboven story sounds very interesting. Could you please provide some sources for this variation?

I had always been wondering why the wife of a Gauleiter would be appointed Gaufrauenschaftsleiterin in another Gau (quite a distance away).. One possibilty may have been that there had been a severe friction between the Terbovens shortly after their marriage and that she (former secretaty of Goebbels) received the GFL position to keep her away from him. But somehow it didn't feel right and I didn't find any indications for this hypothesis either.

If the Gaufrauenschaftsleiterin Terboven was actually the sister of Joseph Terboven this gives a totally new spin to the story.
Please keep us informed.

Bis bald
Torsten
