Pictures of 1930s & 40s German Women

#1

Post by Wilibald » 27 Sep 2005, 15:57

Hi,

I would be interested to find an internet source (galleries) for Third Reich era pictures of German women, preferably studio photos. Any material you may have could be posted on this topic as well, should be interesting.

Thanks for your help!

lol...another obvious attempt to create a gallery of hot babes...aren't you satisfied with the hundreds of existing sites that feature such material?:)

Nope... 1st purpose is to study clothing and hairstyles among German IIIrd Reich female population.

2nd purpose: Reenacting: what about finding a woman who looks close enough to my own sweetheart (and any other reenactor could /should do the same) then use Photoshop to edit the pic with some of her own pix and use it to complete his impression?

It would surely be easier than trying to find some civilian period female clothing and re-create an hairdo for a single shooting session. No? 8)

Thanks in advance

Wilibald

Is there anybody today who would REALLY like to construct a "hot babes" gallery depicting German housewives from the 1940s??? 8O *lol* Mein Gott... those women are either dead or at least 80 years old today! :?

P.S: Feels weird to use some unknown Frau in my wallet with a "meine liebe" frame... nah... lol

I'd be interested too in photos of women in Germany in the '30s and '40s! I'm busy researching my third novel, BLOOD MOON OVER BERLIN, a romantic thriller inside the Third Reich in 1939.

Morag,

You might find "Nazi 'Chic'? Fashioning Women in the Third Reich" by Irene Guenther useful.

Hot babes?
I have some (Obviously, I am French  )
Source: Signal magazine, French edition, 1941 to 44, my (small uncomplete) personal collection.
Some pix are low quality but I do not want to scan those old papers nor to use a flash for photos.
Regards
Daniel

Again some more
Note to Wilibald: If your girlfriend *seriously* wants to be a re-enactor, she *must* consider the photo No. 15 first :P
