Helferin Items

Post by Vikki » 01 Mar 2006 02:52

I thought I'd post some female military insignia and other items, since I haven't seen many examples of them shown here.

The first photo is of Nachrichtenhelferin des Heeres (Army Communications Auxiliaries) insignia: cap, cufftitle, service brooches (enamel and painted versions), etc.

The second picture is a closeup of the painted and enamel service brooches, and the reverses of two identical pins, per a request for closeups from a member of the Forum. (Note that the owner of one of them apparently scratched her initials on the back of it.)

Hope you enjoy them....

(Edit: OOPS! I see that the photos attached in reverse order than I meant them to. Oh well, you know what I mean....)

The second set of insignia includes a cufftitle of a Stabshelferin des Heeres (female auxiliaries who performed clerical duties for the Army). From the green and white piping of the cap, it appears to have belonged to a woman who worked in the Heeresverwaltung (Army Administration).

For an example of this type of cap in wear, see the photo (bottom of page 1), very generously posted by Max Williams, on this thread: viewtopic.php?t=42637)

The woman in the photo is wearing what appears to be the identical type of hat. I've also included one of the pins that she's wearing on her tie, which I've most often heard referred to as a pin for Wehrmachtgefolge, in the insignia grouping.

Annelie,

I'm glad you enjoyed them! It's a great compliment when knowledgeable people get something from my research and collection, it makes it seem very much more worthwhile.

I'd love to see or hear anything you have to add!

Really nice Thread Fraulein Valkyrie! :D

I admit I'm not a militaria person, but I've never seen anything like these.

Best,
David

I do not think I had ever seen a wound badge doc to a woman (I knew they were out there but never laid eyes on one)!!!

Great items!
