RE #242 Post 26 Sep 2019, 20:01

My best guess is that these are Russian 203 MM Brink-Obukhov M1892 in the battery Otchakov. Notice the size of the soldier in the foreground he is much to small in appearance to be standing in front of a 130 mm gun. The Germans later moved them to a former Russian battery at Sevastopol to replace those the Russian spiked.

Thanks for your answer, ROLAND1369...sorry, I did´t have seen your post.
I guess 203mm Brink-Obukhov M1892 gun is the same that the gun of this link: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNRussi ... _m1892.php

I have not found much information about battery Otchakov, apart of his situation in Berezan island, covering the approaches to Nikoláiev.

I think the image of #241 Post 15 Jun 2019 would be the same gun...

Here, another image from Ebay. I think an 203mm 203mm M1905 Vickers-Obuhov. Is this correct ?

Hi all,

As can be seen in the photographs, there were 2 different types of barbette-type open mounts for 305mm M1907 L52 coastal guns.

Does anyone have more information on these mounts? I would say that the mount of image 1 seems to be of an older design.
Did they have a different denomination?

Hi Sturm78,

You actually posted the same picture in 2009 here:

The answer was provided by ludvig: "modernized 203 / 50 with a new elevation +40"
