Translation of Medical Chart

Post by Dann Falk » 30 Sep 2020 20:12

Greetings All,

I have a real problem with a medical chart dated 5 August 1944 for the 7th Guards Army. The title is: Information about the movement of the wounded and sick in medical institutions of the 7th Guards Army. This is a one page chart but the writing and letters are so blurry that I can not read most of the words. There are several different columns in each category (See Below). Someone at the time wrote in the totals/numbers by hand which is great and readable. What I'm asking a Russian reader for is just basic information about each column, like "wounded received" "wounded sent to the rear" and so on. Just enough info so I can understand what the 18 different columns of numbers indicate.

I know this might be hard, but any information would be a big help.

Thanks in advance

Dann

Everything is simple:

A. Troops area [up yo divisional medical battalion inclusively]

a. Arrivals
1. Available at the start of the period [30.07]
2. Arrived
3. Total [1+2]

b. Departures
4. Evacuated
5. Returned to active service
6. Died
7. Total [4+5+6]

c.8. In the troops area [on 5.08] [3-7]

B. Army's area [army's hospitals]
d. Arrivals
9. Available at the start of the period [30.07]
10. Arrived from units' medical installations
11. Arrived directly from units
12. Totals [10+11]

e. Departures
13. Evacuated
14. Returned to active service
15. Died
16. Totals [13+15]

f. 17. In the army's area [on 5.08] [9+12-16]

C. 18. Total in medical installations [on 5.08][7+17]

Wow! I did not think it was possible to read most of the text. Great Job on the translation. Did you find a similar chart somewhere else? The TsAMO archives are so vast, one never knows what is hidden.

I’m deep into writing my second book, the 7th Guards Army from Kursk to Prague 1943-45 and this medical chart provides critical medical information when the 7 GA was preparing for the Red Army offensive into Romania on 20 August 1944.

Большое спасибо Art for your expert assistance.
