Sturm/Der Alte Fritz:

Hi Guys, normally, I am very careful about Id questions when it comes to countries/vehicles I am not too familiar with but in this case, I think I may be correct. I post here some drawings of the Zis-6 BZ that I believe show so many details that match with the photo that I think it may just be the snow on top of the vehicle in your photo that covers up the "large tank", which is not so large in the drawing.

All of the hoses and valves match, as do the various boxes on the side of the truck, the wheels/tyres , the little hand hold at the very end of the tank etc. etc. Again, note that the tank in this very specific drawing shows a much shorter tank than some other drawings and is consistent with other photos I have found. The spare tyre/wheel mounting is slightly different but very close.

In this case, I think I may have the correct identification.

Bill

Thank you for the drawing, Bill.

It is possible that the snow on top of the vehicle confused me.

Hi everybody,
dealing with the Vienna Op. in 1945 I came across this turretless T-34.
At first sight, it's a recovery version, but look at the body top.
Could it be an armoured dual machine gun mount ? Any other idea ?
TIA, Oliver.

What is the source of this video? It might be easier to identify if we can see it in motion.

Yes Sturm, you're correct. It was a popular lend lease vehicle starting in 1943. I think the ebay caption was 1940, so a seller mistake.

I think those panels are part of the sound-flash ranging gear used for counter-battery fire. Its something the Red Army was very clever at, and one of the few things I can see a special variant of the T-34 being authorized for.

However, my instinct says otherwise, for some reason the phrase "Chemical warfare" pops into my mind... and I can't say exactly why.

T-40 or T-30 with TNSh cannon. The image seems to be known before:

Hi Sturm, the truck is most likely a ZiS-5 BZ-39.

I see it referred to as the BZ-ZiS-6. Not sure if this is the correct designation.

Sturm, it's a BZ fuel tanker on ZiS-5 chassis, look at the drawing posted by Bill.
