Apparently this TO&E underwent few if any changes before June 1941

Thanks.
Some slight changes to the battalion trains (Sect. IV — service units)
Interesting that the "Recreation Club" is no longer present in 1941.

Cheers

The actual organization of the tank divisions could vary from the above listed Shats. Unfortunately, you only find bits and pieces in the released Soviet wartime documents

11th Tank Division
11th Motorized Rifle Regiment - detached from the division and part of the 9th Army Reserve from 22.06.41 (?) - 01.07.41
11th Howitzer Artillery Regiment - two battalion of 122mm howitzers

16th Tank Division
31st Tank Regiment - contained all the divisions tanks
32nd Tank Regiment (the 149th Tank Regiment was renamed in the spring of 1941) - not operational (at least until 15th July 1941)

Another interesting point is the tank regiments (4 battalions) of these two division detached battalions quite often and it appears these battalions were used to support the Soviet rifle divisions. Unfortunately there is no direct evidence for this (yet) but it is the easiest explaination for the widespread apperance of Soviet tanks among the Soviet rifle divisions in the area.

Revisiting this topic after a while. From what I can notice there is certain confusion regarding organization of the 1941 mechanized corps. Partly it was a result of the changes and modifications introduced in TO&Es, partly resulted from difference between peacetime and wartime organization (the fact few of authors mention).

As introduced in the summer of 1940 the mechanized corps consisted of corps HQ and HQ units, two tank divisions, and one motorized division

Corps HQ and HQ units (peacetime):
Corps HQ - Shtat 10/20 - 151(152) men
Separate Signal Battalion - 10/21 - 286 men
Sep. Motorized Engineer Battalion - 10/22 - 410 men
Motorcycle Regiment - 10/23 - 1685 men
Air Squadron - 10/24 - 69 men
Field Bakery Factory - 4/83 - 30 men
Military Prosecutor's Office - 10/612-B - 13 men
Military tribunal - 10/611-B - 8 men
Total 2652 (2653) men - 345 (346) officers, 483 NCOs, 1873 privates, 6 tanks, 10 armored cars, 27 50-mm mortars, 113 light machine guns, 12 tractors, 20 cars, 98 trucks, 47 special purpose trucks, 17 motor kitchens, 7 R-5 and 6 U-2 airplanes.
From "Red Army's Mechanized Corps in action..." by E. Drig and an online document

Various source give somewhat different numbers of personnel and equipment, which I don't want to dwell on. With the start of mobilization units we to switch to wartime TO&E. I didn't see a detailed description of wartime organization as introduced in 1940 anywhere.

By the summer of 1941 this organization was modified. In particular in February 41 a new TO&E of the motorcycle regiment (010/31) was introduced instead of 10/23. Now peacetime organization of the mechanized corps HQ and HQ units looked as follows:

Corps HQ - 10/20 - 152 men
Separate Signal Battalion - 10/21 - 286 men
Separate Motorized Engineer Battalion - 10/22 - 410
Motorcycle Regiment - 010/31 - 1417 men
Military Tribunal - 10/611 - 11 men
Military Prosecutor's Office - 4/20 - 4 men
Total 2277 men

After the start of mobilization the corps was to switch to wartime TO&Es:
Corps HQ - 010/20 - 174 men
Separate Signal Battalion - 010/21 - 288 men
Separate Motorized Engineer Battalion - 010/22 - 664
Motorcycle Regiment - 010/31 - 1417 men
Military Tribunal - ? (10/611 - 11 men)
Military Prosecutor's Office - ? (4/20 - 4 men)
Total 2 555 (?) men
Note that the motorcycle regiment was kept at full strength already before mobilization.

By the directive of 25 July 1940 original air squadrons of the mechanized corps (shtat 10/24) were to be substituted with corps air squadrons (shtat 15/407) attached from the Red Army Air Force. In January 1941 this establishment was substituted with the new shtat (0)15/53. The same type of squadron was attached to the HQ of rifle, mechanized, and cavalry corps. After some changes by June 1941 numeration looked as follows:
in rifle corps - squadron number is the same as the corps number
in mechanized corps - squadron number is 100+corps number, so e.g. 101 Corps Air Squadron in the 1 Mechanized Corps
in cavalry corps - squadron number is 200+corps number, so e.g. 102 Corps Air Squadron in the 2 Cavalry Corps
It is not clear what was the status of squadrons formed in 1941. It looks that they existed on paper being far from really operational units

Artillery regiment - 010/17 - 1098
Pontoon battalion - 10/19 - 367 men
Repair and reconstruction battalion - 10/976 - 179
Medical sanitary battalion - 5/79 - 25
Automobile transport battalion - 10/977 - 291
Total 10 549 men. According to "Nakanune (2007)":
https://liewar.ru/dokumenty/219-nakanun ... l?start=30
E. Drig provides almost identical information
Note that establishments of the repair and motor transport battalions were copied from the BT tank brigade of 1939, and establishment of the medical battalion - from the motorized division of the same year. In peace time almost all divisional elements were kept in full strength. The exception were pontoon, repair, medical and motor transport battalions that were to switch to wartime TO&Es with the start of mobilization. Wartime organization of the 1940 division wasn't described in full details in any source, the full strength was apparently about 11 500 men.

In February 1941 a new TO&E of the tanks regiment/tank division (010/30) was introduced instead of 010/16. In particular it reduced the number of KV tank companies from 5 to 3 and the number of KV tanks from about 50 to 30. Including some smaller changes to other units establishment the 1941 tank division looked as follows:

Division HQ - shtat 010/10 - 167 men
Reconnaissance battalion - 010/11 - 414
Signal battalion - 010/12 - 287
Traffic control company - 010/13 - 67
Anti-aircraft artillery battalion - 010/14 - 283
Motorized regiment 010/15 - 3246
Tank regiment - 010/16 - 1709 (incl. 18 men in attached fire guard squad 30/600)
Tank regiment - 010/16 - 1709 (incl. 18 men in attached fire guard squad 30/600)
Artillery regiment - 010/17 - 1102
Pontoon battalion - 10/19 - 361 men
Repair and reconstruction battalion - 10/976 - 179
Medical sanitary battalion - 5/79 - 25
Automobile transport battalion - 10/977 - 291
Field bakery factory - 4/112 - 30
Military prosecutor's office - 6/25 - 4
Total division - 9 874 men
Attached 3rd section (counterintelligence)

Note that information regarding the tank regiment 010/30 is conflicting, there are several variants of the full strength, I chose the one from E.Drig.

With the start of mobilization the division was to switch to wartime organization:

Division HQ - shtat 010/10 - 167 men
Reconnaissance battalion - 010/11 - 414
Signal battalion - 010/12 - 287
Traffic control company - 010/13 - 67
Anti-aircraft artillery battalion - 010/14 - 283
Motorized regiment 010/15 - 3246
Tank regiment - 010/16 - 1705 (incl. 18 men in attached fire guard squad 30/600)
Tank regiment - 010/16 - 1705 (incl. 18 men in attached fire guard squad 30/600)
Artillery regiment - 010/17 - 1102
Pontoon battalion - 010/19 - 732
Repair and reconstruction battalion - 010/26 - 430
Medical sanitary battalion - 05/79 - 154
Automobile transport battalion - 010/18 - 533
Field bakery factory - 04/112 - 144
Military prosecutor's office - 6/25 - 4 (5)
Total division - 10 973 (10 974) men
Attached:
field post station 014/38A
3rd section (counterintelligence)

Again there are different options regarding the tank regiment strength, I chose the one which fits the known totals for the divisional strength.
