K-1 Soviet Submarine

Post by Edward L. Hsiao » 21 Jun 2017, 00:05

Gentlemen,

What were the successes of K-1. I remember reading somewhere that it claimed seven ships by its mines. Can they be confirmed?

Sincerely,

Real success of K-1 was sunken steamships FLOTTBEK (8.11.41), KONG RING (26.12.41), KURZSEE (8.4.42), ASUNCION (23.5.42), ROBERT BORNHOFEN (12.9.42), V-boote NM.01 and NM.21 (6.12.42). So all 7 ships is confirmed claims.

There were no real confirmance during the war (i say about torpedo hits). Most claims of sub's commanders were confirmed by their bosses. Now wartime lists was cut after german's data. But with mines succeses it is vice versa, because nobody on soviet side know about german losses on mines in their inner waters.
