Dekanozov was georgian or armenian ?

Hi,

Dekanosov was the soviet ambassador in 1940 and 1941 in Berlin.

Beevor in Stalingrad said that he was georgian.
But Molotov said in his Conversations with Tchouev that Dekanosov pretended to be georgian whereas he was indeed armenian, and that Stalin, who was georgian, mocked him always with that !

So ?

Do we have a definite answer today ?

True. i guess it is his father's name ?
Let's imagine his father was georgian, what about his mother ?
He was born in Baku, not in Georgia.

Baku was a multi-ethnic city. Oil works attracted workers from the whole Caucasus and elsewhere.
