uniform distrinctions for "branch of service"?

Not sure I'm asking exactly the right thing, but here goes.

In my book on soviet uniforms it lists different piping colors on late ww2 uniforms for infantry, armor, artillery. Did infantry that were part of tank brigades have an infantry distinction or armor distinction on their uniform? What about things like motorcycle battalion troops?
