Pacific Fleet August 1914

I may have been too literal or strict regarding this board and did not raise questions relating to ships prior to 1917. Many ships that existed in 1917 would have been operational in 1914 and thus the historical trail available. In particular did the cruisier Askold in late July or early August bring Russian troops from north China to Vladivostok. What orders followed the capture of the Ryazan by the Emden? What deployments were made in August 1914? Would be interested in the operations of the RVF in transporting armaments from Japan to Russia. Many thanks in advance.

Large fragments of this book are available in Google Books:
Александр Чернышев - "Аскольд". Лучший крейсер Порт-Артурской эскадры.
Alexander Chernyshev - "Askold". The best cruiser of the Port Arthur squadron.

1914 is covered on several pages, but I could not see any mentioning the episode you asked about.
