I would say (more or less)

K98 --> Mosin Nagant M1930 and M1944
G43 --> SVT 38 and SVT 40
MP40 --> PPD 34/38, PPSh 41 and PPSh 43
MP44 --> no equivalent during WWII
MG42 --> Degtyarev Pechotnyi DP and SGM
Lüger --> Tula-Tokarev Model 1933 (TT-33)

It was very effective, it just came in too late to make much of a diffrence. If the war had lasted a few more years, every german soldier (except machine gunners) would be issued one.

i dont care what the Ruskies say the AK-47 is a copy of the StG-44 , i have taken a StG-44 apart and also a Ak-47 and the 44 and the 47 have almost the same parts, the 47 is just "improved"

I would post you a pic if I could figure out how to do it.
Just go to http://www.google.com
Then type in MP-44 as your search and then click the images option right by your search bar. Lots of images.

From top to bottom I would say :

- Mosin Nagant model 1891/30
- Mosin Nagant M1938 carbine
- Mosin Nagant M1944 carbine
- SVT40
- PPD 34/38
- PPSh 41
- PPSh 43
- M1910 (Pulemet Maksima Obrazets 1910) a copy of the german Maxim MG.
