There was not the Soviet Union before 30th December 1922.
There was the Republic of Soviet Russia (Rossijskaja Sovetskaja Respublika) from November 1917 to July 1918.
There was the Socialist Federal Soviet Republic of Russia (Rossijskaja Sotsialistitšeskaja Federativnaja Sovetskaja Respublika) between July 1918 and December 1922.
