Armored cars of Estonia

#1

Post by Kaupo185 » 13 Sep 2022, 10:28

We are collecting materials about the Estonian armored car called "Vanapagan" that fought in the Estonian War of Independence 1919-1920.

The goal is to build a moving copy of an armored car. The machine was built in 1919. It took part in battles in Southern Estonia and Latvia.

Question - old Estonian armored vehicles were taken away in the first half of 1941.to the Latvia Daugavpils military warehouse No. 942.
Where exactly was this warehouse located?
Is it possible to find out what happened to these armored cars?
I don't think the Russians could do anything with old armored cars before the war. Maybe the Germans used it for metal? could there be documents about this?

Information we have and activities https://www.facebook.com/soomusautoVanapagan

Auto-Armored-Tank Armament Depot No.942 (Dvinsk) - evacuated 26 truckloads and 3 rail carloads of spare parts, up to 80-90 carloads were abandoned to the enemy

So it's likely that these armored cars were abandoned as well.

you might want to try the landships.com forum. It deals with WW I armor and should be able to help you.
