Question about SS honour dagger and SS-Ehrendegen

#1

Post by stykes » 11 Sep 2017, 04:11

Hello Guys!
I have a question about those two items, thats been bothering:
Every SS-Man was given a honour dagger, so if he was to be awarded with an Ehrendegen by Himmler, how would those be worn?
Both at the same time or was the dagger switched for the degen?
Kind Regards
S.

Both at the same time
Never.
or was the dagger switched for the degen ?
In ceremonial or parade dress, SS Dagger was substituted by SS Degen, sometimes with brocade belt and cords *.
Not all SS members were awarded with SS Degen, in that case they could worn SS Dagger ( Specially M1936 model after it was introduced ).
SS Dagger was used in service dress or walking-out uniform.
