These are great. I don't see my favorite, the all black SS like Himmler would wear.

Hello All,

New to the group and this is the first posting........ Love to see some of the great stuff here and I'm looking forward to participating in the poll 'greatest warrior'..... and "no" I don't think it was the Waffen SS so I'm sure there will be some slack... :D

I have a website that is open for everyone... No items for sale just photos of General's uniforms from around the world....... http://www.militariamuseum.com

I'm currently 'hot' into Bulgarian stuff so any other Bulgarian collectors please let me know... I'm sure that there is at least one other collector somewhere in the world

Looking forward to any comments or suggestions.

Cheers
Mark

although, disliked by the rest of german army at first, the paratrooper camouflage uniform was the best from my opinion, excellent for european fronts, but rather useless in winter russian battlefields

dot '44! I also think that the waffen ss private purchase NCO caps were some of the coolest pieces of headgear ever made.

Wow! Nice General's tunic. I sold my General epaulet and collar tab many years ago.

This may not be my favorite but it is my latest. I was inspired a little by movie "Captain Correlli's Mandolin" and by the fact that my Dad was an NCO in an artillery battalion of the 85th Division in Italy.

Oh, Captain Correlli wore the cap device of a Divional artillery(heavy) which had a flowing flame and no numeral and the same collar tab below on top of his Division collar tab.

Model 1940 Italian Officers Tunic with Engineer collar tab (mostrine) with yellow piping. Sleeve has Captain's rank. Visor cap is the 9th Artillery Regiment(or light artillery) with two sweatband stripes of a Lt or Captain rank.

Why did I say it was an "Engineer"? Its ARTILLERY collar tabs. Engineer was orange, I believe. The yellow piping is repeated on the sleeve cuff. The tunic and cap were not purchased from same source, so they are different rank and the material is different shades of color.

When I saw the previews of "Captain Correlli", I thought they had the uniform all wrong. I assumed Yellow was cavalry and artillery was red--wouldn't ya know the Italians have their own color scheme. When I first saw the cap device and the grenade with the large flowing flame, it looked like either a bersagleria or cavalry. Again, I was wrong and the movie is correct.

BTW, Captain Correlli wears this Model 1940 tunic in the scene where they are relaxing and dancing during the evening.
