He's a member of a Fliegerhorstfeuerwehr [airfield fire department] wearing the dark blue uniform of that service. He has the lowest rank of Feuerwehrmann.

Hi everyone

Anybody can explain the meaning of the loop on the shoulder-strap?
Any relation to the grade? (they are all Schütze)
or to the arm/speciality? (pics are b&w, but one can see that the colour may differ)
Many thanks in advance.

Regards
OdoHerr

A loop of metallic braid (Tresse) identified an NCO candidate, while simple loops of colored cloth or cord were used to identify individiual companies.

The man in the third photo appears to wear both.

Greetings to all

Does anyone know to which award this ribbon is related?
Obviously not to the Eisernes Kreuz?
Thank you in advance.

That's the ribbon for the Ostmedaille.

The ribbon bar has the ribbons for the EK2, 4 years long service award and Sudetenland medal.

Hello again

Anyone knows which award is it?
I got this excellent book: Militärische Auszeichnungen 1935-1945 - Orden und Ehrenzeichen der Wehrmacht, but I can't find it in.
Thank you in advance.

It's not a military award, but one of the NSDAP:

This is the badge for the 1931 SA-Treffen in Braunschweig.

Hi everybody

I came across the pic of this soldier who wears a loop on his soulder with 645.
He was pictured in France, Northern Brittany, near the town of Morlaix (AOK 7, KVA A2, KVG Mo).

Colour could help identifying, but it's a b&w one.
Looking to the eagle on his chest, it looks like on of the last design, of 1944.
But his helmet with eagle: produced before March 1943.

I tried to find a unit with this 645 number, which could have stayed there for a while, but unsuccessfully (and the last division here was the 266. I.D., but it had no unit with a 645 ID number.

Maybe some one could help?

Many thanks in advance.

thx for the answer,

I remember now…. was there an equivalent for lower ranking Kriegsmarine officers?
