M43 Cap Authenticity
So Got a M43 Field Cap really cheap at Portobello this saturday.
It's very thin, it was very dirty (Washed it) and has no patches or anything. It has 2 vent holes on each side and a grey sweatband.
On the inside pic you can see some kind of diamond shaped tag or something.
I've been reading and it seems that thin summer Heer caps could rarely have vent holes, also the sweatband sums to the theory.

Re: M43 Cap Authenticity
Not a German WWII cap. It is post war Bundeswehr. That is probably why it was cheap.

Re: M43 Cap Authenticity
So, on the main topic, is there any ID on the cap?
Actual Era, repro, whatever?
Cheap as in, 20 Pounds for it. If it can't be Identified It could still have a chance of being surplus post WW2 or something I guess?
Who would've used M43 caps post WW2?

You're being a big twat, not really adding to the conversation here. Just wanted an Id on the cap, not some pretentious collector laughing at me for asking what I have.

Ok, you are right. I missread your entire posts.Still, the way I read them were that you thought it was a genuine.Tr cap.
Did you edit your 1st header? Seems different from the original post from when this all started. So I give a semi-apology, but this cap is NOT WW2 surplus, just a modern Bundeswehr. more that likely surplus due to lack of any signs of any insignia ever being on.
