Heer M43 Splinter Pattern

I know that the Heer M43 Splinter pattern cap was made via spare Zeltbahn tent material by local tailors. Hence they weren't actually issued by the Heer. But does anyone have any documentation or articles about the different variations and tailors that were used to make them? Since these were custom made for soldiers and paid out of pocket, I find this super interesting.

Is there another site that someone can suggest to me? Or are my questions just to specific? I'm kind of bewildered the two posts I made have gone un-answered. I can always look at some reference books.
