Two japanese buttons to date

Post by Jack the Ripper » 16 May 2017 13:55

Hello everyone,

I try to date these two buttons:
-the first one would be special for "Kaigun Tokubetsu Rikusentai"?? Is it true?
-the second i have no idea, maybe officer dress uniform, but for which period???

Very few people knew about that topic...

If I'm not wrong, the first it's the common Japanese Imperial Navy button, the second it was attached to the Navy school uniform of NCOs and EM.

Many thanks for your reply von thoma.
You are the first person to say the second button was for the Navy school uniform.

I find some more pics on this forum here, could be worn till 1929???

The 2nd button (the Mum) is not a Navy button.... it's for "State" workers, school uniforms, factory employees, etc. I don't know the Japanese terminology but widely worn .... the illustrations from von thoma above are Naval special training sleeve insignia... not buttons.
