Uniform of Fahnenjunker/Fähnrich/Oberfähnrich
Hello,
I know that Fahnenjunker, Fähnrich/Oberfähnrich did wear those "Litzen" over their Schulterklappe. But did they have the right to wear officer breeches with officer Boots or no?
thx

Oberfähnrich as candidate officer, could wear officer's attributes, except the officer insignia rank.

Hello von Thoma, von thoma wrote:Oberfähnrich as candidate officer, could wear officer's attributes, except the officer insignia rank.
thank you for your answer. Do you have a full screen image of a Oberfähnrich and a Fähnrich, where you can see trousers, boots etc?

No Sorry.
Try search SS-Standartenoberjunker rank, they were under the same regulations.

I found this NCO ( SS-Oberscharführer ) with riding breeches and high boots.
Dress away from the NCOs ordinances.

So besides officer and Oberfähnrich/Standartenoberjunker, also NCO ordinances had the right to wear breeches and officer boots? interesting, do you have a source?
Because you can clearly see, that he is "just" a Oberscharführer, not a Standartenoberjunker. And only Standartenoberjunker wear the Officer-Kragenspiegel, Officer Schirmmütze, breeches and officer boots

To have the right to wear and to wear are two different things. Höss had a lot of problems with staff wearing incorrect uniform parts. More specifics you can find in "Standort - und Kommandanturbefehle des KL Auschwitz 1949 - 1945".

Actually, this particular case can be explained:offizier1916 wrote:So besides officer and Oberfähnrich/Standartenoberjunker, also NCO ordinances had the right to wear breeches and officer boots? interesting, do you have a source?

The man in the photograph is Rochus Misch. A week after he took up service in Hitler's inner circle, Hitler's adjutant Brückner expressly ordered him to get his rid of his heavy hobnailed issue boots, which left imprints on the expensive carpets ("Das sieht der Chef gar nicht gern." - "The boss does not like that at all.") and acquire more suitable footwear for his new surroundings. This anecdote is described in Misch's autobiography.
It's safe to say that the high, tightly fitting officer boots automatically necessitated breeches, as cramming the pants legs of the more straight-legged, heavy issue trousers into the shafts wouldn't have worked at all (at least it would have looked odd and been uncomfortable).

the NCO next to Dietrich should be a Standartenoberjunker if im not mistaken. NCO collar tabs, but Officer cap
