WWII German SS helmet. Real or Fake?

#1

Post by greree12 » 08 Jan 2018, 18:10

Someone who knows I'm interested in American military items offered this to me. He says his grandffather brought it over from Germany during WWII. I know very little about German items. But when I looked it up on Google I noticed that all German helmets have the stickers directly underneath the vent hole. This one has them to the side of the vent hole. Is this genuine? If it is, what's its worth?

I think you should visit http://www.german-helmets.com/APPRAISALS%20MAIN.htm for a proper appraisal !
Or you can visit http://www.german-helmets.com/FAKES%20A ... 20MAIN.htm to check for yourself. Only you can determine the quality of the metal or decal.

Best of luck :D , Eross

PFAKE!!!
That is a Polizei helmet, NOT an SS helmet. The rune decal is a repro, there should be a Polizei decal on that side.

Unfortunately, not an SS helmet :( The Germans are very strict when it comes to uniformity.
