Has anyone seen this symbol on a helmet before?

Hi all

I've come across this symbol on a helmet - does anyone know if

A) its ww2 or postwar (police, etc...)

B) if it is German.

I've included the makers mark of the helmet in case this helps (although the photo is unclear).

It is for Organization Todt .... I don't know if it is original to the helmet,

Helmets are not my area of collecting. You should post it (better pictures) over at the WAF website in the helmet forum & you should get more info as there are some members there who specialize in helmets. Good luck.

Another piece of info. The pic you posted of the inner mark, very obvious that the helmet has been post war repainted. or the germans painted over massive pitting and rust with a gloss paint

Original O.Todt helmet insinia had a cut across the letters....

Correct von thoma, if the stencil was used.
Also done by hand according to the site linked and I would believe these would not have a cut across.
