The meaning of 43?

#1

Post by rankfilm » 23 May 2018, 20:31

Hi everyone
Quick query, I'm doing some research on different regiments in ww2. Anyone got any idea what the 43 on this presumably Russian helmet means? I've also included a picture of the liner in case that's a clue.
Thanks

While I have little knowledge of Soviet military items or details such as the numbers illustrated in you're post, I assume it is a unit number ..... In the Nelson/Webster book about "Uniforms of the Soviet Union 1918_1945" on page 217 shows an Adrain with painted star and #42.... but little detail on spifics.

PS. No idea on originality or liner details....so many Adrian types and variations that I can',t keep them straight.
No
