Really nice quality and looks 100% to me but figured I'd better check!

What metal is it made from? It does not look like aluminum & that pin catch does not look correct for this badge ...jmho. John G. has more experience with these maybe he will help out.

Everything looks bad on this example.... wrong hinge, wrong (oversized) catch, wrong material, poorly trimmed.... nothing I'd want in my collection or for resale.

Glad I asked! Yes catch is wider than I would like to see. They are only made in aluminum?

There are zink versions, however this is a cast version, not die struck. Zinkers are much less desirable than the aluminum ones..... This one is still carp in my opinion.

Here is a repro in aluminum that I own (got it about 15 yrs. ago) ....it looked good in the photos when I was going for it, but turned out to be bad. I believe these are referred to as the claw fake.
