Speer and Hitlers Cap

Post by Zirran » 11 Jun 2019 10:27

A long time ago, I read an account of how Speer once tried on Hitlers Peaked Cap. It was at the Berghof and several others had already tried it on finding it too big. Speer tried it on and it fit him perfectly, leading others to say jokingly, that he was Hitlers successor based on the fact that he was the only one who fit the hat.

I thought the account was in Albert Speer's Inside the Third Reich, but i'm having trouble finding it.
I've looked in my other books about Speer but still can't find any mention of it.

Does anyone know of this account and its source? Or has my mind completely made up the incident?

I do not know about this anecdote, but certainly Hitler's visor cap
had a big size, even for him...
