Who was this German Soldier? Help needed please

#1

Post by Nathaniel1933 » 25 Oct 2019, 07:59

Hello, I am from Australia and new to this forum. Can an expert please take a look at this German Identity Disc and interpret who this man was? I do not know anything about German Identity Discs .... which number relates to the soldier's service number. Is there any records we can look up or some type of register to help me identify him please. I appreciate any help that you can provide. I realise that it may be impossible, but I would love to return this wound badge back to this soldier's family. Yours gratefully. Nathaniel from Australia.

His number would be 131 and blood type looks like 0. Nothing yet on what appears to be “8 (MC)”.
I would think WASt and possibly family too would be more interested in the “where” and if any remains.

Just to add that WaSt no longer exists and that all former military records to service personnel have been moved to the Bundesarchiv. AS before personal records information is not available to non relatives.
