Italian uniform identification

Hi, this is a photo of my grandfather Calogero (Charles) Aronica. He was born in 1877 in Serra di Falco, Sicily and immigrated to the US likely in 1909, but he went back and forth to Italy for many years. Can anybody identify the uniform he is wearing? Thank you for your help.
