Hello everyone,
I recently purchased what was sold as a "ww2 German m42 with liner". The helmet has a repro liner, which is already a red flag, but I am only going to return it if the shell is a fake as well. Looking the the top of the helmet the edge on the wearer's right side is about 3-5mm longer than the other side. The helmet is stamped ckl64 and lot number 5015, but the way it is stamped look suspicious because you can see where it bulges out slightly from the back. Hopefully this is enough information to help conclude its authenticity or not.
Thank you.

Re: Help me identify this helmet
looks like a M42 with the uncrimped edge

Re: Help me identify this helmet
It is certainly a refurbished helmet, it is common to add liners and decals not original to the helmets.
The helmet is an original M42, painted in Fieldgrey ( Original ?)
CKL 64 and 5015 in the back.
Shell maker; CKL refers to factory Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale.
Size; Shell size 64, Headsize 56 cm.
Batch number 5015.
