Did any German formations (for example Luftschutz) used american m1 or british helmets ?

Actually, I have a related picture question and was surprised to find this topic! I have a picture where several soldiers, three of the group have visible obergefreiters chevrons, appear to be wearing British helmets. Looks kind of like they're in an air raid shelter to me with the poor lighting, bench, and brick wall to the rear but the photo has nothing written on the back.

Looks somehow staged. The shy’ish girl seems to be wearing one of the mens caps and maybe sharing a bar of chocolate or something similar. They don’t look like they are waiting for the bombs, more like a rest and some amusement with a local girl and “tommy” souvenirs.
