OFFICER'S POLIZEI BUCKLE FOR COMMENT

Post by afa485 » 01 Aug 2022 10:26

Dear Members,

Following my theme of learning about belt buckles, I have attached for your interest some pictures of what I think is an original example of a Polizei officer's buckle made by Overhoff & Cie. It has the Company logo 'OLC' in a diamond on the back and is good in detail. I would be interested to read your thoughts on the originality and the time period of this piece.

Best Regards

Tony

Looks like a suspicious buckle to me.
Low quality material, construction, details, they make me think that it may be a forgery of a Police buckle by Overhoff.

Many thanks for your valued advice Von Thoma.

Whereas I said that I think it is an original example, I'm not sure I believe it, so I put it up for discussion to call on the experience of forum members.

In the past I have come across examples which have much clearer striking and greater detail and I would much prefer one of the more crisp and fully marked DRGM examples that are available.

Best regards as ever,

Tony

Hello afa ;

Look at this, it is a reproduction of 30 Eur.
The originals have a much thicker and more compact cross

I have a different opinion, this key is designed very simply, but in the old days, to create such a key, the craftsman was very skilled and skilled, so for me it was very valuable
