Pls help me with this M40.

Someone sold this helmet to me as a German WW2 helmet. I cant find any makers mark. But the helmet also have some rust.
I found something that loks like a Lot No though. It looks like 4141.

Yeah....
It looks repainted a long time ago so mayby it is factory repaint?

And according to the website you linked Hans. It looks to be a M35 and not a M40.
