Hi von thoma,

propbably "SS-Polizei-Division", unfortunately your photo is very blurry..? :? (Location?)
(You should work on the enlarged detail, that's entirely possible.)

The men in the photo were preparing "Kleinholz" "kindling" in small pieces, for a room stove.

Definitely not.

This is a member of the Allgemeine SS (not the Waffen-SS). Also, the cufftitle SS-Polizei-Division only existed with the "SS" written in runes, while this one has the "SS" in Gothic letters.

The photo is not clear enough to positively identify the cuff title, but judging by the combination of everything we see here (a cuff title that starts with "SS-...", a blank right collar patch and the grey service tunic with Allgemeine SS insignia), it seems rather likely that this was taken at one of the various SS schools.

Were there ever SS-Pioniersturmbann cuff titles with Gothic letter SS?

Not to my knowledge, but I can't say with absolute certainty.

Hi,

With really very narrowed eyes I read SS-Haupt....
So my guess is SS-Hauptamt.

Would that match to his uniform of Allgemeine SS?

Best regards

That would go with the A-SS insignia and the blank collar patch, but I don’t think that's the cuff title we see here.
