What scene I am looking at?

Post by Keessmit » 24 Oct 2022 20:15

Looking for all answers for this photo mystery to me. The only clue I have is Czechoslovakia 1938, The truth is that only the Sudetenland was occupied in 1938. The photo shows a mix of uniforms, though belts are missing. The black uniforms seem to be Panzer uniforms, but the people look too old to be a Panzer crew.

Not much to say beyond the obvious, really:

All the men in this photograph are members of the Heer [army]. The black uniforms are, indeed, the field uniforms for tankers.

The man fourth from left is an NCO; the others are officers. The one on the far right is a WW I veteran.

The black uniforms were worn by armoured troops (not just tankers), which included reconnaissance as well (light/heavy armoured car crews).
