Hello folks,
I have recently come across a picture of a German soldier guarding one of the bridges across the Upper Rhine River.
What startled me were the dark cuffs on his uniform. I cannot find a matching image, that would tell me what branch this kind of uniform belongs to. I know parade uniforms have these, but in this situation I doubt they would have worn one. The cuffs also look different from the parade ones.
The tunic also shows dark collars, but doesn´t seem to be an M36, which doesn´t have the dark cuffs.
Could it be, that he is a police officer, that has been second to the border guard? Odd that the cuffs don´t show buttons, especially on the left gentleman. But maybe that´s the resolution or they´re hidden by shadows/angles etc.
Would love a second opinion on that.
Thank you!
Max
