Please Help-Luftwaffe General’s Cockade

Hi, I’m new here and couldn’t find anywhere else for some insight. I wish it would let me send files but it kept saying ‘Error. Too large.’ I gave up. Anyways. I acquired a Luftwaffe General’s cockade, but it is made of metal with a gold colored gild on the front. It also has ‘Bomisa Milano’ on the back. Would anyone know why a very limited amount of Luftwaffe General cockades were metal (Looking online, I have seen one or two more that were metal and had gold gild), and for what purpose they had? Also, why did Italy make some of them? Thanks a bunch for anyone’s expertise!!

an easy way to downsize pics for AHF posting is to post the pic to your Fb account(home feed, then click to save to your file, delete teh pic from FB, then use new pic for our forum
