LSSAH shoulder boards

#1

Post by GFM2000 » 18 Jun 2002, 07:10

I once saw a pair of shoulder boards, with the letters LAH written on it, for sale. It looked extremely interesting ; however, I have yet to see any LSSAH soldiers wearing anything remotely similar to it. So, did any LSSAH soldiers ever wore shoulder boards scripted with the letters LAH? :monkee:

Yes, the SS-LAH wore two different LAH style scripts on the boards, the first pattern was early, pre-war, and was machine sewn on enlisted and NCO boards, its almost looked 60-70's style writing, and was hard to read as LAH, it was not used for long, and originals are very hard to find. The most common are the metal/alum cyphers you see on the officers boards, in either silver or gilt, like the previous photo shows.
