Above the French cuff, should there tunics have an open slot in the seam by design or be closed in a parade tunic ? Also, if early, even though the equal of a Rgt Sgt Maj, could tunic have cyphers with a numbered company button on the boards ? Been offered one and curious as to anyone's thoughts.

Seam
The tunics should not have an open seam, it could be several things, one, a cufftitle for army use, depending on the sleeve, the "Der Speiss" wore two small tress rings about an inch apart, but both sleeves would be open there, plus you would see some indication of the rings being removed, either old stiching holes, maybe a slight fading where the rings were etc. Several army cufftitles were around, including Grossdeutchland, Infantry Regt List, FuhrerHauptquatier, etc. the Ultra-rare Spainen 1939 as well. Yes, it could on the boards as well.
