German officer at Beersheba Oct 1917

Mates,

Sorry if we have mentioned this before, but I was after any German officer who maybe that shown on Ismet Bey (Inönü) 3rd Corps staff, as per the the Light Horse movie sent by Kress?

I can not find who any such officer could be, while I am sure a German officer would have been with the 3rd Corps, I can not find any who it could be to be captured (as per the movie)?

I can find no German officer captured on the 31 Oct 1917 either?

While the movie takes many false hoods via the Ottoman and German Army, like an German officer commanding the Infantry and the Battery, which I found is incorrect, an officer at Staff would be more likely?

Any ideas who the German officer was in 3rd Corps staff during this date?

Cheers

There was a LtCol Willmer Bey C of 24th Div.3rdAC. on sept. 1917.
willmer Bey commanded 24th div. under 15th AC 7th A during =ct-Dec 1917.
On Jan 1918 LtCol Böhme Bey was made C of 24th Div.

Steve, Tosun,

Oberstleutnant Wilhelm Willmer was a Bavarian active cavalry officer. His service records are shown on ancestry.de. This is a scan of the pertinent section regarding his service in the Ottoman theatre of operations. As can be seen, he was commander of the 11th, 24th and 60th Infantry Divisions. Throughout the war his substantive rank in the Bavarian Army was that of a Major (7.1.14). He was promoted to brevet (Charakterisierter) Oberstleutnant on 24.1.21.

Regards

Glenn
