As shown there Pre War Ottoman awards very

A mate sent me this;

Steve,

I'm pretty sure it's researchable, but I certainly haven't seen the specifics or exact dates for these awards. Best I can do is give you the year of the Rangliste edition that the Ottoman award is first listed:

Rave 1904

Schmidt 1905

Feldt 1907

von Mohl 1908

Edeling 1911

von Glasenapp, Rose both 1913

So I hope this may help, because these men 's awards can't be found does not mean they were not given?

The dates are also strange why were these medals given around 1904 or 1905?

Cheers

Tosun,

Thank you wonderfull details.

I have the photo of Bauer and Wiesmayer but didn't have names to it? I notice you don't have Bauer on your list, only Brunner who I could not confirm with a Harb Madalyasi?

"some pilots awarded with turkish war medal
Denizci pilot Baron Gottfried von Banfield,
Pilot Brunner,
Pilot Franz Wognar,
Pilot Yüzbaşı Ernst Strochschneider,
Pilot Yüzbaşı Franz Rabitsch

I could not find Wiesmayer, but did find a man called Weismayer killed 5 Oct 1918 at Fiume, but no other details on him?

Wiesmayer (Weismayer) Franz Feldwebel KUK pilot Airforce Luftfahrtruppen Fliegerkompagnie 36 1916-18 possibly DoA 5-10-18) at Fiume KUK possibly awarded Ottoman War Medal in Galizia shown in photo with Bauer with Flik 36 (no identified?)

As for Bauer I also could not find him, other then

Bauer Leopold Feldwebel KUK pilot Airforce Luftfahrtruppen Fliegerkompagnie 36 1916-18 (born at Modling died?) KUK Niderosterreicher (1 victory) awarded Ottoman War Medal in Galizia (no identified?)

I notice there was a Leopold Bauer who was an Engineer who worked at Lohner designing planes for that company?

But I don't known if they are the same man?

Most of the kuk photos known in internet were were shot by him. Von Kress attented him as advisor in his HQ in May 1916
