#1

Post by agblume » 26 Aug 2006, 20:33

I am seeking details about the Turkish Nationalist Armies, Corps and Divisions in their War of Independence 1919-1922. I am also interested names of commanders and dates of changes in command and locations of unit headquarters.

I have the same questions about the Greek forces. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Kind regards, agblume

There is a general order of battle (both Greek and Turkish forces, down to division level, and with no information about commanders, but it is a beginning) in the Russian Civil War Group of Yahoo.

Hello Ironmachine, Thank you for letting me know about such information posted on the RCW Yahoo Group website. I will definitely check it out.

Hello Tosun Saral, Many thanks for your response, but I had not expected such detailed information. I only seek the Orbat down to the Division level. Also thanks for posting such interesting images of the Efe Turkish outlaw group.

Kindest regards to you both, agblume

This map gives location of Greek and Turkish troops in early August 1922 - http://militera.lib.ru/h/korsun_ng5/s03.gif
Unfortunately, it's in Russian.

And this book itself is about last Turkish offensive and has some information about organization and location of units on both sides, as well as names of commanders. Link here: http://militera.lib.ru/h/korsun_ng5/index.html (in Russian)
