Mustafa Kemal Pasha resigned from this duty as commander in chief of Yildirim Army group and returned to Istanbul sick and unhappy. The port of Istanbul was full of allied warships. While crossing the Bosphorous in a motor ship his adjutant Cevat Abbas Bey said his Pasha that he was very sad to see allied warships in the hearth of the nation. Mustafa Kemal Pasha told him "Don't be sad my child. They will go as if they came"
