Its said that Kemal was extremely loyal to his associates.

I came across this as well, post 1923.Does anyone know to whom it refers to?
When one of them later shot his mistress dead,Kemal saved him from prosecution by procuring a medical report to the effect that he was insane...this officially insane man was allowed to remain a deputy in the Assembly...

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk achived great reforms which no one could dare. Therefore he had many enemies among fundamentalists. His enemies are presented even today in Turkish National Parliament. We can not get rid of them. They are trying their best with all kinds of antipropaganda.
Hasan Rıza Soyak: (1893-1966) was Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's one of the best men. He was His privat secretary. He was also the publisher of the newspaper "Hakimiyet-i Milliye". MP of Sinop at the 2-4th terms, MP of Zonguldak for the 5th term. It is said that he kiled his misstress. There is no proof and evidance.
The fundamentalist use this saying as a antipropaganda.
