Enver's attempts to launch the Pan-Turanian invasion of Persia.

First Invasion

The Van Jandarma Division crosses the Persian frontier on the 15th December 1914.The smaller Ceval Bay Detachment crooses further south.Russia responds by sending troops to Tehran and Tabriz. The Jandarma take Zori, then Kotur.Lack of reinforcements and a Russian attack in March, meant all Turkish forces pulled back out of Persia by the 18th April 1915.

Second Invasion

The XIII Corps(2nd,4th,6th Divisions) crosses the Persian frontier in June 1916 after border battles with the Russians in the previous month.Karind is entered as the Russians retreat.A six day battle for Hamadan erupts in August.Disease and logistical problems halt the advance east of Hamadan.A lack of Persian volunteers as predicted by Enver does not materialise as well.

Third Invasion

June 1918--Yakub Pasa's Ninth Army is given the mission of taking Tabriz. The 12th Division captures Dilman. To the north,Nahcivan falls in July. The 11th Division enters Tabriz on the 23rd August 1918.By September, although halted, the Turks held a line from the Caspian Sea to Miane in Persia,.."The Turks held this territory until the Armistice".
