Mates,

I was wondering if you can give any details on these Caucasus Divisions during the war?

I am after units and commanders of the Division and Regts of these Divisions;

3rd Caucasus Division

1-3/7th Caucasus Regt
1-3/8th Caucasus Regt
1-3/11th Caucasus Regt

Apr 1918- 123rd Regt and broken up

5th Caucasus Division Col Selahattin Bey 1916/17 - LtCol Alaaddin (Koval) 1917/18 - LtCol Mürsel or Musel (Buka) 3-18 (or 7-18) to end of war

3rd Caucasus Division served during Turkish War of Independance at Eastern Front during Sarikamish Battle (28/29 Sept 1920) Kars battle (27/30 Oct), Şahnalar Battle (Nov. 4th), Golgat, Cacur Battles (Nov. 14th 1920) . The divison was taken to the order of Western Front on May 27th 1921 to Akçakoca on Black Sea.

After Deli Halit Bey (Majorgeneral Karsıalan) CO of 9th Causasus Div was appointed to Group commander of Kocaeleli at the order of Western Front, CO of 3rd Caucasus Div Col Şükrü Bey was promoted to Brigadier/Major General on Dec. 1920 and appointed to command of 9th Caucasus Div. Şükrü Paşa dont have a surname because he was hanged before the new Turkish civil law at İzmir after an unsuccesfull suicide attempt to Atatürk on July 13th 1926
Staff Col Nazif Bey (Majorgeneral Kayacik whom we know from Gallipoli was made CO of 3rd Caucasus Div. .

Tosun, my Good Freind,

What can a say amazing, many thanks for these details.

I was interested in Staff Col Nazif Bey (Majorgeneral Kayacik whom we know from Gallipoli was made CO of 3rd Caucasus Div. .

I show a number of positions in which he served in can we place his service in some order?

5th Regt - LtCol Nazif (Kayacik) 2nd Infantry Division (1915 Gallipoli)

6th Division - Col Nazif Bey

56th Division - Col Nazif Bey

13th Corps - Col Nazif Bey

I have no dates for his service in these units

He served in the 3rd Caucasus Div during the war of Independence shown as MG Nazif Kyacik.

Co of 6th Div. at Irak front. The 6th come from Gallipoli-Istanbul to Bagdad on May 6th 1916 and then transported to Iran Front to Hanikin. On July-Dec 1917 Remadiye Battles.
P.217 at caucasus CO of 3rdCaucasus Div on 1920 and so on
