Mates,

Do you have the names of any of the Regt commanders of this Division?

1-3/59th Regt
1-3/76th Regt- 76th MG Co
1-3/78th Regt - 78th MG Coy

26th Artillery Regt - LtCol Ali Haidar Bey

Concidering this Division fought in Romania 1916/17 and Palestine there are no Regt leaders shown anywhere?

Any ideas

Mates,

This has been bothering me for a while, can anyone sort out the commanders of this Division for me?
26th Div

Different accounts show;

LtCol Esat Bey - 1914-15 (comdr at Gallipoli 1915)

LtCol Hamit Fahri Bey 1916

Col Fahrettin Bey (Altay) 1917 shown Comdr at 3rd Gaza between Oct to Dec 1917

LtCol Mehmet Hayri Bey (Tarhan) possibly 1918

unknown names
(LtCol Hamdi Bey shown 11-16) (possibly Hamit Fahri Bey)

shown Aug 1918 Allied reports Muhammed Khairi (possibly LtCol Mehmet Hayri Bey (Tarhan)

The only Officer I am sure of is Fahrettin Bey who is often shown CofS 12th Corps between June to Oct 1917 and to Commander 26th Div Oct 1917

The differant spelling of Ottoman names in known English sources, can be hard to confirm at times.

Can you put some meat on the bones here, with names and dates?
